Training update! We are back at Northbridge Oval this Saturday afternoon!

Published by:

First win of the season for Northbridge! After ongoing negotiations with the council, we have managed to secure a training session at Northbridge Oval this coming Saturday, between 2pm and 4pm. This means that you can help out at the BBQ at Northbridge Plaza, then head on down to the oval for a net!

Training details are as follows:

Outdoor Training
Northbridge Oval (Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge, 2063)
Saturday 20th September – 2pm until 4pm

* Future dates for training at Northbridge Oval will be confirmed asap

Indoor Training
SCG Cricket Nets (Sydney Cricket Ground, Moore Park 2021)
Saturday 20th September – 9am until 11am (3 Nets Booked)

The Indoor Training at the SCG can accommodate 18 players per hr (6 people per net) so if you intend making either of these sessions please RSVP to executive@northbridgecricketclub.org. Slots will be allocated on a first in, first serve basis. The cost to the club for the 2 SCG bookings was over $500, so a gold coin donation from each player who attends these sessions would be very much appreciated.

The Outdoor Training is open slather – so no need to RSVP. Just turn up!

Virtual Hall of Fame Board for Current Players!

Published by:

The ‘Virtual Hall of Fame Board’ can be accessed here.

The NCC would like to pass on its sincere thanks to Neil and Peter for their efforts in putting this virtual board together. We also believe a Hall of Fame board is being put together covering NCC players dating back to the 1930’s! This is a fantastic achievement and very fitting that it is occuring during our 90th year. Watch this space for more details!

We encourage all registered players (and indeed anyone else who is keen to play this year) to participate in as many sessions as possible. Those who do attend will certainly increase their chances of being selected in Round 1 :).

Rego Fees to increase by $100 – all players must pay by 10 Sep 08.

Published by:

The failure of players to pay rego fees on time is jeopardising the club’s ability to confirm team numbers with the NSCA. If we do not receive the majority of player payments by 10 Sep 08 we will be forced to reduce the number of NCC teams playing this season. All players who have not yet paid are also delaying the purchase of our 90th year commemorative playing shirts. Please click here to pay now. If you are unable to pay via Credit Card you can visit any CBA branch and make a deposit directly into our account. All details are on our player payment page.

Rego fees will increase to the following levels from 11 Sep 08:

$375 – Rego Fee – Standard
$300 – Rego Fee – Student
$240 – Rego Fee – Casual

Rego Fees must be paid by 31 Aug 08

Published by:

We have 3 payment options this year Standard rego ($275), Student rego ($200) and Casual rego ($140). Full details including Credit Card Payment option and Direct EFT details can be found here.

Player selection for each week will give preference to those who pay either the standard or student rego. Players who choose the casual rego will only be selected when teams cannot be filled. We will not have any ‘pay on the day’ option this year. The effort involved by Captains and the Committee to collect (and in many cases chase players to extract) these fees is simply too great to make it a viable option.

We have decided to include a 90th Year Commemorative Playing Shirt with every rego (rather than giving players the option of not including a shirt with their rego as occurred last year) to celebrate the club’s 90th year playing in the NSCA. This enables us to buy the shirts in bulk which will give us a considerable discount, and will also see all members of all our teams playing in the same 90th yr strip! The playing shirt will be a similar style to last year’s white shirt but with additional 90th year markings.

This decision has also enabled us to only increase our fees by $20 from last year ” continuing Northbridge’s trend of having rego fees considerably lower than other clubs. We hope this modest increase will cover increases in team fees from the NSCA, plus other general increases in our internal costs, as well as covering the T20 team fees which may well be made up of players from the regular 2 Day and 1 Day teams (T20 is a very short Sunday only competition which commences on 30 Nov).

New NSCA T20 Competition – further details!

Brief details are as follows:
• Sunday only competition for 8 teams with 7 rounds plus SF/GF on Sunday afternoons starting Sun 30 November through to Sunday 1 Feb (with the usual 2 week Xmas break).
• All games to be played at Blackman Oval, with 2 games per field each afternoon; 12-3, & 3-6.
• Similar rules as ‘normal’ one day games, except for the obvious reduction in total overs to 20 and 4 overs per bowler.  The ‘all out’ bonus point will not apply.
• Teams playing the 12-3 match are expected to provide an umpire for the 3-6 match, and vice versa.
• Competition is open to all players.  Clubs may wish to enter a ‘new’ team, or a team made up of current players already playing on the Saturday.  Usual clearances for playing in a different grade will not be required, but clubs should not be using ‘ring-ins’ from Grade or Shires clubs.
